My name is Brian Conrad Roycewicz. I was born in Florida, USA in 1988 and raised there for 10 or 11 years with my father before moving to South Korea with my mother and step father (business purposes). I attended Seoul Foreign School for the whole 6 years I was there. I started playing videogames when I was very young at places like Chuck E. Cheese and loved them ever since. The first videogame my family has owned was either Pacman or Super Mario Bros. and over the years have owned a large variety of consoles and handhelds - all of which amazed me. My brother and I loved to play as many console games as we could but that came to an end when we were introduced to the ultimate entertainment system: the personal computer. The first computer we've owned was a slim Macintosh with only 3 or 4 games on it. It wasn't very interesting - we'd usually pay most of our attention to the Nintendo 64 or Sega Saturn. Before we moved to South Korea, we were told that a new computer was waiting for us so we stocked up on the latest computer games such as Extreme Paintbrawl, Swat 2, and, of course, Half-Life. I still remember my brother waking me up around 4 a.m. on our first day in Korea to install the games with anticipation. Honestly, Extreme Paintbrawl was terrible but Half-Life kept us up for hours, so many hours that I'm still playing it today with less-than-healthy amounts of sleep. We soon found the WorldCraft install file which was included with the CD and started screwing around with it. Our first compiled map was composed of 2 large, hollow boxes with rectangular holes in the lower-corner walls of each one and a bridge connecting the rooms. Both rooms were textured with the Black Mesa scientist promo picture (c1a0_flipsign6) and the void was in place of a sky. I'm still into computers and videogames these days. A few months back of writing this, I took a trip over to San Jose, California to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum on Technology (www.nylf.org) where I met people like Tommy Tallarico and Blake Ross among many others. So far, I've been into videogame level design for about 8 years total and hope to continue it as a life hobby.
I am currently working at Infinity Ward. More
